NIPPON EXPRESS HOLDINGS, INC. (President: Mitsuru Saito), on May 16 submitted a letter of commitment to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)1, an organization that certifies Science Based Targets (SBT)2, a set of greenhouse gas emission reduction targets set by the Paris Agreement.
The Nippon Express Group has positioned climate change as one of the material issues to be tackled in realizing its long-term vision of becoming a “logistics company with a strong presence in the global market,” and has been working to reduce CO2 emissions in its own operations and create products and services that help customers reduce their own CO2 emissions.
To achieve the 1.5°C target set out by the Paris Agreement as part of its efforts to protect the global environment, the Group will be seeking SBT certification and addressing climate change while balancing its business activities with global environmental conservation.

<2030 target> Reduce NIPPON EXPRESS GROUP Scope 1 and 2 CO2 emissions by 50% (compared with 2013) <2050 target> Contribute to the creation of Scope 1, 2, and 3 carbon-neutral societies as a corporate group |
