Third Party Logistics Provider, MD Logistics, Pleased to Announce Launch of EV Trucks in Garner, North Carolina

Garner, NC (August 27, 2024) – MD Logistics, a third party logistics (3PL) provider, headquartered in Plainfield, Indiana, announced the addition of Electric Vehicle (EV) trucks to their cold chain transportation services available in Garner, North Carolina. The addition of these trucks allows the leading 3PL provider to offer a sustainable, local transportation option for leading pharmaceutical clients within the southeast region.

The addition of these two EV trucks to our network will allow our client to experience a combined reduction of more than 275 tons of CO2 emissions annually, compared to a traditional diesel counterpart. MD Logistics as an organization has a storied tenure, collaborating with our clients to bring solutions for their supply chain challenges to fruition.”

Through a joint project with parent company, Nippon Express USA, MD Logistics is initially  debuting two EV trucks at their  facility located in Garner, NC – within the Research Triangle Park (RTP) region of North Carolina. These trucks will be utilized for specific customer lanes, within the region. Nippon Express USA, as a whole, has a plan to convert all NX owned trucks to electric vehicles by 2027. The company plans to introduce a total of 14 EV trucks by years end – with an anticipated reduction in CO2 emissions from their own operations by approximately 11%.
