The American Diabetes Association-Indiana Chapter leads the fight against the deadly consequences of diabetes and fights for those affected by diabetes. Each year, MD Logistics holds a fundraiser to send children with diabetes to Camp John Warvel. This camp is a week-long residential camp that provides children the opportunity to experience over-night camp while being under 24-hour medical supervision by some of the top diabetes health care professionals in the state. Additionally, the ADA works to:
- fund research to prevent, cure and manage diabetes
- deliver services to hundreds of communities
- provide objective and credible information
- give voice to those denied their rights because of diabetes.
The American Heart Association-Central Indiana Chapter builds healthier lives in the community, health care, education and research. Cardiovascular diseases and stroke are the #1 cause of death in Indiana. Survivors, volunteers, advocates, healthcare providers, donors – all are building healthier lives in Indiana. Each year, MD Logistics raises funds for the Indianapolis Heart Walk & 5K. Through the Heart Walk, the AHA creates opportunities for people to improve their health by walking and simultaneously raise funds to help fight heart disease and stroke.
Gleaners Food Bank reaches thousands of people who need assistance. They are the working poor, the unemployed, single parents and the elderly. They are the homeless, the disabled, the mentally ill. They are battered women, victims of disaster and helpless children. Their mission is simple and direct: To lead the fight against hunger. In an effort to reach the Gleaners goal ‘until every bowl is filled’, MD Logistics regularly hosts food drives to benefit the thousands of hungry in the central Indiana area.
